From an early age, Tom has always been interested in Photography. He first considered that he had a future in photography when he was featured on the BBC Countryfile TV programme with an image that was awarded a runners-up spot, when he was 14 years old. Although the bitterness of being rated as the winner by Lord Patrick Litchfield, but runne-up by John Craven and the programmes Art Director has long since worn off, the captivation and drive to succeed was ingrained in Tom from that day onwards. After A-levels, Tom went on to undertake a BA (Hons) in Photography at Blackpool & Fylde College, which he graduated from in 2007. Whilst there he won awards from D&AD and was shortlisted by the V&A, exhibited twice in New York City and once in London. Since graduating Tom has gone on to assist some London's best advertising photographers and has put together an ever growing series of images, captured in locations as diverse as Los Angeles, Paris and Tokyo. And Lincolnshire. Interspersed with shooting and assisting, Tom has also exhibited in Arles, New York and London and has had work projected twice at The Whitworth Gallery, Manchester. Tom currently lives in London, England. Group Exhibitions: 2011: For Japan, HotShoeGallery, London, UK. Awards: 2007: Winner, Best New Blood, D&AD, London, UK. |
